The Dolphin is proudly kept by landlord Johnny, known locally as Blondie, who grew up in and around Newton and Noss. With over 40 years in hospitality, starting at just 15, Johnny has built his life by the water, working in some of the South Hams’ most regarded waterside restaurants and running his own much-loved Blondie’s Bistro.

Taking on The Dolphin in 2019 felt like a natural homecoming. With deep family ties to the pub and strong roots in the community, Johnny brings a genuine warmth as well as a passion for quality cooking and a commitment to keeping The Dolphin a place where locals and visitors alike feel welcome.
